The first COOLFX product will be a head cooler for adaptation within various helmet configurations, but may also function as a “stand-alone” cooling headband. The product will contain a battery powered thermoelectric thin-film cooling system. It will have no moving parts and will provide cooling for an operational period of up to 10 hours between battery charges, controlled at approximately 10°F below the skin-touch temperature.
The unit weighs from 2 to 3 ounces and typically rests against the forehead, which is the body’s primary cooling area. In removing a controlled amount of heat through small heat sinks, the COOLFX Personal Cooling Device (PCD) stimulates the brain to alleviate symptoms of faintness and lightheadedness, thereby maintaining mental and physical performance levels.
